Spice things up this school year with videos! We all know that sometimes students don’t pay attention to videos in class, but maybe that’s because the videos are too long. Playing short videos to introduce unknown topics, such as verb tenses, is fun for students and keeps them engaged.

This video about greetings and saying goodbye, for example, is short and sweet. Play the video once without a handout so students pay attention to the content. Afterwards, prompt students with “Where are these people from?” Play it again with this visual handout and you’ll be surprised with how many students have the correct answers.
