Have you ever looked at a US Passport and noticed that it is printed in English and French? That is because French used to be the most commonly spoken second language in the world. Not any more! Diplomats in the European Union speak primarily English, which is a shift from French as the primary diplomatic language. Yet much like the blending of Spanish and English into “Spanglish” in the United States, the form of English spoken at the European Union in Brussels  is commonly referred to as “Euro-English’ because it influenced by other languages and linguistic features.
