Mike Collins believes that embracing blended learning could positively impact schools today. According to Collins, blended learning improves student engagement, the retention of information, and it serves a wider variety of students. In this day and age, where teachers are not only challenged with issues regarding standardized testing, Common Core Standards, and job security, incorporating more technology can seem overwhelming.
Although finding your stride can take time, Collins writes, “It just makes sense. At its core, blended learning means offering a variety of educational resources to students, giving them the chance to learn in and outside the classroom” (via EdNet Insight). When teachers have the opportunity to cater to individual student’s needs, the results can be incredible.
